The Weiss 38mm Standard Issue Field Watch is the latest iteration in Cameron Weiss’s endeavor to create the perfect watch. Weiss has worked diligently to restore American pride in watchmaking—a quest that has come after years of mastering the watch making process. Cameron started early in this work. At the tender age of five he was already trying to repair his watches. He requested watch making tools and books for his high school graduation. After university, Cameron participated in an apprentice-style program at the Nicholas G. Hayek Watchmaking School in Miami. The program featured a Swiss curriculum, propelling Weiss toward his goal. The two-year program, called WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Educational Program), was a full-time investment. Two teachers worked directly with six students to teach them the art of repair and hand-making watch parts on lathes. Weiss didn’t stop there. He went on to study with Audemars Pigeut and Vacheron Constantin in the US and Switzerland. When Weiss launched his own company in 2013, he was more than amply prepared to offer the very best in watches.

The Field Watch uses the Weiss Watch Company Caliber 1005 mechanical movement. It is manually wound, with 21,600 beats per hour and a 42 hour power reserve. The watch’s functions include hours, minutes, a sweep second had at 6, and incabloc shock protection. The case is made of 316L stainless steel and measures 38mm in diameter.
